Tasmanian Brewery and Distillery Tours

HOP ON BOARD!

We’ve got tours to suit all tastes from breweries and distilleries across Northern and Southern Tasmania.

The Brew Hop is dedicated to showcasing the talents of independent Tasmanian craft breweries and distilleries to locals, visitors and private groups.

Our guided tours provide an opportunity for people to learn about Tasmanian beer and spirits and their rich history.

At each stop on one of our tours you’ll be presented with a curated selection of beverages from a local brewery or distillery and run through a comprehensive tasting with each one. You’ll also get the opportunity to see behind the scenes of a working brewery and distillery, with insights into how Tasmanian beer, gin and whisky got to be so tasty!

The Brew Hop was created to help spread the word about quality Tasmanian craft beer, spirits and cider. Tasmania has long been famous for its wineries and in recent years for its whiskey and gin distilleries, but we’re doing what we can to help visitors and locals alike experience and appreciate some of Tasmania’s finest brews, as well.

Your guide, Harrison Westlake is a Certified Cicerone® and a hospitality professional. Harrison has been learning about and tasting spirits for more than 15 years, whilst working in bars all over the world, but he found his true love of beer when sampling Real Ale when living in London.

Distilling spirits in Tasmania was illegal until 1992, when Bill Lark lobbied Parliament and had the law repealed. Since then, Tasmanian spirits have taken the world by storm, winning prestigious awards in gin and whisky categories.Tasmanian brewing is quickly catching up to the mainland. The home of two of Australia’s iconic brands, Cascade and Boag’s, the craft scene is rapidly expanding, with breweries opening up all over Hobart and along the North Coast. Tasmania is home to one of the largest hop fields in Australia, Bushy Park, about an hour North of Hobart, meaning that fresh hop beers in Tasmania are literally as fresh as it gets.

The Brew Hop Lager Limo is looking grand and ready to take you and your friends on a tour in some of the finest breweries, distilleries and cider mills in Tasmania.
