Two Bud Spur is a boutique vineyard nestled in the heart of Gardners Bay in Tasmania’s Huon Valley winery region. First established in 1996, we are one of Tasmania’s southern-most vineyards, producing cool climate wines of exceptional quality. At Two Bud Spur we recognise the benefits of technology, while understanding the importance of tradition. Our philosophy is to grow premium grapes and produce world-class wine through low yields, simplicity of wine making, and while minimising our ecological impact.
We welcome visitors to our unique eco-friendly straw bale Huon Valley winery and cellar door. Come and try our current release wines in a peaceful rural setting. We also have selected aged wines exclusively at the cellar door if you are looking for something special.
Over the last fifteen years we’ve taken what was a neglected site and through hard work, blood, sweat (and the odd tear), we’ve resurrected Two Bud Spur to its former glory. As scientists, we tend to over-think everything we do in the vineyard and winery, and although it gives us extra grey hairs, we think the wines are better for it. Generally, the wine-show judges agree, and we’ve been awarded more than 15 medals for our wines so far, making us one of the most recognised of the Huon Valley Wineries.
Two Bud Spur is our passion and we love sharing it with others. You’ll find us in the vineyard or cellar door most weekends, helped out by our trusty wine-dogs Rose and Rupert who love visitors probably even more than we do!
Our straw bale, eco-friendly winery and cellar door is open each weekend through summer (December to March, inclusive) from 11am to 5pm, or other times by appointment. Relax in our natural setting surrounded by native plants, listen to the birds singing, and sip on one of our medal-winning wines.
Find us at 1033 Woodbridge Hill Road, Gardners Bay, just 6km from Cygnet and 10km from Woodbridge. From Hobart, it’s about a 45 minute, very scenic drive through the D’entrecasteaux Channel or via the Huon Valley.
If you can’t make it to the cellar door, please get in touch. We’re happy to deliver wine locally or ship it interstate for you.
