Average Reviews

Established in 1986, Clover Hill is one of Australia’s very few premium sparkling houses solely producing sparkling wines in the traditional method. We have become synonymous with elegance and refinement, gaining a reputation of uncompromising quality.

Created to rival the wines of Champagne, Clover Hill blends the finest traditions of this famous region with its own distinguished Tasmanian style. Using only the traditional varieties of Champagne – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – Clover Hill produces its sparkling wines in the traditional Méthode Champenoise. Clover Hill is able to craft wines of pedigree due to its ideal location in North Eastern Tasmania, the superior quality of its cool-climate fruit and the intimate attention to detail given by its dedicated winemakers.

Clover Hill’s award-winning wines have garnered critical acclaim since the winery’s inception in 1986, winning the hearts of even the most royal among us. Clover Hill was selected as one of only four iconic Australian wines to be served to Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh during their most recent Australian visit. Prior to that, it was the tipple of choice at Princess Mary’s and Prince Frederik’s wedding celebrations.

Most tastings have a virtual option, to have your wine shipped to your door with a class held over Zoom. Such a great gift, for yourself or loved ones.

Clover Hill was awarded the inaugural Tasmanian Vineyard of the Year and, since then, has continued to collect gold trophies and awards from some of Australia’s most prestigious wine shows and competitions.

The neomodern building sits at the top of our sloping vineyard, so your eye is led down to the vines, and out to the Bass Strait. The rammed earth construction puts you inside the very soil and climate that can be tasted in our wines, and the Earthy colours, recessed floor lighting and tactile materials help foster this serene ambience and create visual linkages with the outdoor environment.

Our share plates are prepared with seasonal, local produce and are subject to change.

Discover Clover Hill, a world-class Tasmanian producer of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines celebrated for their purity, complexity, and uncompromising quality.

The Piper’s River region, just 50 kilometres north east of Launceston, has emerged as Australia’s premier wine-growing district with a cool, maritime-influenced climate and volcanic soils sheltered by a natural amphitheatre ideal for sparkling wine production. Clover Hill encapsulates the region’s natural beauty and refined balance. Poised atop the valley, the Cellar Door offers a breathtaking position that overlooks the beauty of the vineyard, set amongst the picturesque Lebrina scenery.
