The Truffledore on Cradle Country Farm is a boutique truffle farm, offering B&B farmstay accommodation as well as truffle harvest and farm tours, and truffle products.
Inspired by The Gourmet Farmer on Fat Pig Farm; The Agrarian Kitchen and River Cottage Australia; Cradle Country Truffle Farm embraces a natural, seasonal approach to sustainable living. Created by a unity of human effort and imagination, together with our friendly farm animals and natural processes, Cradle Country Farm offers a wonderful opportunity to open your hearts and minds to simple living. To ensure our fabulous foodie friends are well catered for, we added another dimension to Cradle Country Farm – The Truffledore. A fun play on words… combining ‘cellar door’ & ‘provedore’ together with a touch of magic, our hand built, meticulously appointed, The Truffledore is one of a kind. Our converted barn now operates as a cookery school, farm gate, function centre and a place to discover and taste all things truffle.

Unearthing your first truffle is an experience to remember. There is an anticipation, an excitement and a distinct scent in the crisp wintery air. It is like waking up to your very first Christmas. At the end of your hunt, you will hold, smell and taste the most prized ingredient of the culinary world – the black winter truffle!
Boasting the cleanest air in the world, with its rich volcanic soil and its climate that resembles the south of France, it is no wonder that The Truffledore is reputed for the amazing aroma and excellent quality of its French black winter truffles.
Our Truffière produces reliable quantities of excellent quality, aromatic black truffle. We take pride in growing our truffle under the ‘closed loop’ system of farming. We use low impact, spray free, sustainable farming methods which means our truffle is allowed to grow as it would in its natural environment.
Weekly during June, July and August, our truffle hunting team heads out into the crisp wintery weather to gather huge baskets full of Truffledore truffle. Our truffle is hand harvested, washed and graded by our dedicated truffle team.
A taste of country life
Foraging, harvesting, learning, cooking, sharing, eating and drinking – our classes are an entire paddock-to-plate cooking experience for all.
With our intimate group of ten, the day begins with a cuppa and a catch up in The Truffledore. From there we grab our baskets and head off to forage the orchard and kitchen garden, harvesting only the freshest seasonal fruit and vegetables. As we make our way around the farm, there is ample time to discuss and ask questions about our sustainable farming practices – our ‘closed loop’ system and what it really means to ‘Reduce, Re-use and Recycle’…
