Stoney Rise Vineyard

Stoney Rise Wine Company is based in the Tamar Valley in Tasmania. It’s 7ha vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and a bit of Gruner Veltliner. It is a family run winery owned by Joe and Lou Holyman.

In 2004 we returned to Tasmania with our sights set on growing and producing the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay we could. We purchased a vineyard that was planted in 1986 in the Tamar Valley, north of Launceston and set about doing just that. 2008 saw the construction of our winery on site.  We have expanded our vineyard in recent years with more Pinot Noir and a little bit of Gruner Veltliner and Trousseau.

We love all things vinous, we take our wines and what we do rather seriously albeit with relaxed personalities we try and have the most amount of fun possible.

Our brand new Cellar Door – designed by local architect studio Cumulus – is open:

Thursday – Monday 10am to 5pm

Extensive wine list featuring local and imported wines + beer + non-alcoholic options. 

Small plates of food available – cheese + sardines + charcuterie.

While adhering to social distancing rules – limited seating is available inside.  Extra seating is available outside. 

Situated along the beautiful Tamar River drive (C728), our brand new architecturally designed Cellar Door is perched on the hill overlooking the vineyard and the Tamar River.

Along with having our ranges of Stoney Rise and Holyman wines available, we also stock a great range of local and imported wines which are also available take away.

Our Wine Club – The Club – is exclusive to our most loyal customers.  Membership is by committing  to an ongoing annual allocation of at least one dozen bottles of New Release wines each year.
