Marions Vineyard

Marion’s Vineyard invites you to one of Australia’s most visually spectacular vineyard sites overlooking the Tamar River. Planted in 1979, our protected macro pocket produces sparkling wines, aromatic whites to full bodied reds including Syrah and Tempranillo.

In the summer of 1979, an indefatigable Cypriot and a Californian dreamer began crafting Marion’s Vineyard from an overgrown block of impenetrable bush and rock.

Marion and Mark were pioneers of the cool, beautiful and fecund Tamar River Valley.

Our family is still here… we love this place. The grapevines love living here too. And the flowers and the bees and the trees and the wallabies and the worms.

We work hard every day on our land to bring a little bit of our dream to your glass.

The estate can be found on the west bank of the Tamar River, 35kms north of Launceston, right in the heart of the Tamar Valley Wine Route in a village called Deviot.

Since the summer of 2016, Marion’s Vineyard has been an idealic location to celebrate your union, birthday, anniversary, and any other exciting event you have planned.

See our photographs of private events held on-site and, if you fit the mould, this could be your special place to share with friends and loved ones. 

It is not linen tablecloths, down lights or silver service… no, no. Instead, it is a relaxed venue featuring stunning natural beauty, and a spirit and soul that will make you want to party! The wines are delicious, the food is real, and the atmosphere is completely memorable.

Cellar Door Opening Hours

Open from 11 am – 5 pm, everyday. 

Our Cellar Door is perched midway up our slope and commands the best view on the property. From here you can look out and sip something delicious and chat with the owners or just gaze contentedly. If you feel adventurous, there are plenty of nooks and crannies to discover on site.

Look for our teenage redwood forest, crooked rock paths leading to a new adventure, secluded picnic tables amongst lush gardens, ancient Roman-Greco heads watching you, and some magnificently, breathtaking views under our giant Sea Eagle.

And of course, we make wines from our vineyard. Delicious vino from the mature vines you see on site, ranging from fun, aromatic field blends to serious Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and mouth-watering juicy big reds: Syrah, Tempranillo and Cabernet – hard to find gems in Tasmania.
