The gateway to the Tasman Peninsula Just 45 minutes’ drive east of Hobart lies the captivating majesty of Dunalley Bay, the gateway to the Tasman Peninsula. This coastal inlet adjacent to the quiet fishing village of Dunalley is defined by a sweeping, rugged and tranquil beach kissed by southern sunlight on a coastline that stretches for miles.
Bold and seductive gin expertly distilled with native Tasmanian botanicals.
Dunalley Bay Distillery specialises in blending handcrafted gin using Tasmania’s seasonal fruits, herbs, flowers and botanicals to create a bold and seductive experience you won’t soon forget. We’re passionate about the provenance of the locally foraged ingredients we use to make our gin, ensuring flavour, integrity and a connection to the land in every bottle.
Whether you’re sipping, mixing, or innovating the next generation of cocktails, Dunalley Bay Distillery is where botanicals meet the bay.
Meet the distillers Partners Sandra Chu and Mark Wray founded Dunalley Bay Distillery in the spirit of rebirth and renewal. The pair met following successful careers in the property, dairy and seafood industries, and began looking for a location to establish their dream distillery project together. The Mornington Peninsula in Victoria was first considered, but this location was soon eclipsed once the couple were seduced by the sheer beauty of Dunalley Bay on the Tasman Peninsula. An opportunity to purchase 20 acres of land with a kilometre of beachfront presented itself, and the rest is history.
“Since we moved to Dunalley Bay, we’re beyond excited to share our craft spirits and hospitality with people in such a spectacular location. To us, Dunalley Bay Distillery forms part of the regeneration of the local area, devasted by bushfires in 2013. It’s been remarkable to see how the community has united to recover and rebuild homes and businesses. Today, the parks, trees and local flora are thriving and looking fantastic again. It’s a truly inspirational community and we’re honoured to contribute.” – Sandra Chu and Mark Wray
