Onsite you will find chocolatiers, cheesemakers, farmers and chefs all transforming Tasmania’s best produce into gourmet delights.

Our restaurant is open 7 days for breakfast & lunch. Friday & Saturday nights for dinner. Our restaurant serves modern Australian cuisine, from locally grown and sourced produce. Our seasonally changing menu ensure there’s always something new to try.

Our family run business was launched by Daniel and Melanie Leesong. We opened the doors at Coal River Farm armed with a little bit of knowledge and a love of the finer things in life.

What started as a little knitting and growing a few vegetables (unsuccessfully due to very hungry kangaroos and substandard fencing) turned into something a little larger. Both originally came from executive or legal backgrounds and as the years went by were hit with the persistent urge to celebrate Tasmania’s world class produce.

Between their five gorgeous kids who you will see wandering the farm like they own the place and their love of getting things done they are pretty passionate about the Coal River Valley. We’re excited by the unqiueness of the region and love making fresh, unique products that put a smile on everyone’s face.

Take a stroll through our working farm and pick your own strawberries, cherries, apricots, apples, plums and more.

Availability is seasonal, in summer you might even find our famously large sunflowers on display.

It’s a great experience, the whole family will enjoy! We’re open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm, as well as for dinner Friday and Saturday.
