41° South is an Eco-certified salmon and ginseng farm that implements sustainable growing practices with no impact on the environment.
The salmon farm is an inland fish farm rearing salmon in the cold and pristine fresh water sourced from the Montana Falls.
41° South Tasmania grows and develops products for both Korean and American ginseng.
Visitors to the salmon farm can find out all about ginseng, view and sample a number products made and infused with ginseng.
A small licensed café Georgie’s Cafe is on site where you can enjoy a variety of light lunches including salmon sandwiches, salmon platters and salmon burgers.
Compliment these with a local juice or glass of beer or wine.
Optional self guided tours are available to see the working salmon and ginseng farm. The walk meanders around the farm, along the wetlands and towards the Montana Falls Cascades, taking the natural flora and fauna. Walks include a free bag of fish food and a map to help guide.
Guided tours are available for groups of 10 or more people, where a guide will take people around the farm and explain how everything works. Bus groups from primary school, high school, community groups or international visitors are always welcome and guides tailor the information to suit. Tours in Mandarin, Cantonese and German are also available on request. Bookings are essentials.
