From humble beginnings 15 years ago, we continue to grow our berry farm and supply customers across the country.

The Westerway Raspberry Farm is situated on the fertile river flats of the Tyenna River, running through the Derwent Valley in Tasmania’s rugged Western Wilderness region. Owned and operated by the Clark family, Westerway Raspberry Farm has been supplying thousands of kilograms of fresh and frozen raspberries, blackcurrants, blackberries and other seasonal soft fruits to Tasmanian and Australian markets for over 10 years. With over 150 acres of land under berry and soft fruit production, The Westerway Raspberry Farm is amongst Australia’s largest soft fruit farms.

The Westerway Raspberry Farm supplies the freshest berries to the public from the Farm Gate Shop. Tourists to nearby Mt Field National Park and locals alike, cherish our short but sweet growing season from early December to late January when The Farm Gate Shop is open from 9am to 6pm.

Raspberries, common throughout the Derwent Valley 40 years ago, were first planted in the old hop fields in Westerway in 1995 with the plan to supply machine harvested processing grade raspberries to Cascade Fruit Syrup. To service this market, Rob Clark planted one acre of the Willamette raspberry variety, a high yielding, soft berry with a naturally high sugar content.

The fruit from the Westerway Raspberry Farm is quickly refrigerated and then packed on site. Since 2000, the Westerway Raspberry Farm has offered the freshest produce to the public direct from the packing shed.

With ample parking and scenic views of the Tyenna river, customers can purchase the freshest berries, locally made jams , Tasmanian ice-cream and Cascade beverages made from fruit harvested from the farm.
