The Ross Hotel

The Ross Hotel is an historic sandstone hotel, restaurant and bar dating from 1835.

The Ross Hotel is situated in the historic township of Ross on the Midlands Highway – 55 minutes 78km South of Launceston and the Launceston Airport or 70 minutes 115km North of Hobart.

The Ross Hotel was established by William Saddler in 1835 and built by convicts. The building is constructed from local, hand cut sandstone.

Travellers have been faithfully served by the Hotel since 1835 with restful historic accommodation in the Hotel. Cold ales, appertising wines and quality country style meals are available daily.

We have 5 fire places for heating, our hotel is always cosy and warm in winter. Perch yourself in the bar and don’t be surprised if the barman knows exactly what you’re after. This renowned bar is the place to order your favourite spirit or chilled Tasmanian beer.
