Stelo at Pierre’s features local produce through an Italian lens. The restaurant’s acclaimed team brings you precise cooking with bags of flavour and service that are polished, warm, and proud to be Tasmanian. Dine on Tasmanian Wagyu beef from our North-West. Tasmanian Seafood from the rugged coastline. And organically grown forgotten vegetables from our local growers. Lauren and Nathan, the couple behind Stelo, each week, create a four-course tasting menu. These curated dishes inspired by local produce limited by season or quantity are matched by Tasmanian and Italian style wines chosen from Stelo’s bespoke and eclectic wine list. Signature dishes to look out for on the menus are handmade pasta and gnocchi, burrata, sourdough focaccia and tiramisu.
The Stelo restaurant on George Street spreads across two grand dining rooms, a bar and a private dining space. Appointed with locally crafted leather bench seats, generous Tasmanian Oak and leather chairs, and crisp linen, the venue feels warm, luxe and intimate. First established in 1956, Pierre’s Cafe and Brasserie welcomed Australia’s first commercial espresso machine. The restaurant has been part of Launceston’s rich and diverse history and continues to contribute to the city’s unique fabric. See you at Stelo. Bookings encouraged.
