Seagrass Long Point

Seagrass is a casual waterfront cafe with amazing views and sits right on the Derwent River’s edge of Sandy Bay Beach and is set amongst sand dunes, lawns and park areas. We are a cafe by day, serving modern Australian cuisine, and a private function centre by night.

We seat up to 120 for a sit-down dinner or 200 for a cocktail event and we are one of Hobart’s few true waterfront locations. The main space has large sliding doors which open onto surrounding decks so your guests can mingle inside or out. You can hear the water lapping onto the beach while watching the changing landscape of the river.

Perfectly suited for any event, from casual to formal, large or small, Seagrass will delight you with its impeccable styling, ambience and appeal. Our chefs produce our menus using the freshest Tasmanian produce.
