The Reid family were one of the early pioneers of Tasmania’s fruit industries, establishing their apple operations in the Huon Valley in 1856. It was a time when fruit trees had just started to be planted in Tasmania’s south.
Twenty years on Tasmania was exporting apples to the northern hemisphere, exporting some 1,300 cases of apples in a refrigerated steamer from Hobart to Great Britain in 1885.
For six generations, Reid Fruits has worked in harmony with Tasmania’s unique natural environment to produce the highest quality fruit.
Premium quality Tasmanian cherries
Recognised as the leading global premium cherry brand.
Reid Fruits produces premium Tasmanian cherries in the pristine environment of southern Tasmania. Tasmanian cherries are known for their flavour, size and firmness due to the ideal oceanic climate of the island state.
We produce 10 popular varieties of cherry including Simcoe, Van, Stella, Sylvia, Lapin, Simone, Kordia, Regina, Sweet Georgia and Sweetheart. We also produce several other varieties under trial which will be available in the near future.
Cherries are picked at optimum maturity when brix levels and colour exceed our minimum specifications. The latest defect sorting packing technology ensures that inferior quality cherries are removed from the packing line leaving firm, glossy fruit with fresh, green stems.
Tasmanian cherries are recognised as being some of the worlds best cherries.
Reid Fruits also produces high quality cider and juice using our delicious cherries.
