Loira Vines is a small vineyard on the West Tamar in Tasmania. Our cellar door is open 7 days for bottle sales- wine, cider and beer. Local produce platters are available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
West Tamar Valley hand made wines and apple ciders
Being a small producer and having an unusual row and narrow arrangement that we do, we must carefully nurture our vines by hand.
At Loira we maintain a careful watch over our vines to ensure that we provide individual care so that each vintage has its own characteristics.
We grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Red Frontignac and Fragola varietals.
We grow Golden Delicious and Pink Lady apples for our beautifully hand crafted ciders made ourselves and professional cider makers. Only using the season’s apples, each vintage is as unique as the weather and being fully fermented they leave you with fresh apple flavours and none of the residual sugar stickiness of mainstream ciders.
We also grow hops that allows us to create a delicious pale ale with a extra bitter finish that cleans and resets the palate.
We are thrilled to be able to offer people the opportunity to stay with us on our small working vineyard, right in the heart of the beautiful Tamar Valley. Our accommodation is a studio apartment with king bed (or twin beds), kitchenette, reverse cycle air conditioning and ensuite, all with a beautiful view of our back block and Swinging Gate vineyard. Relax in the gardens surrounding our cellar door, have a wine tasting in our beautiful cellar door or simply relax in your room with a good book and a glass of wine.
Our brand new cellar door is the perfect place to hold small gatherings and functions with friends and family. The cellar door is warm, rustic and homely, making it a great place to relax or celebrate. Our food experience is all about showcasing the best local produce available from Launceston and surrounds. Come and enjoy our beautiful views over the spring fed stream (with resident platypus) and up over our back block and Swinging Gate vineyard..
