You’ll find our fresh produce at all Salamanca Fresh stores; it’s easy to find, just look out for the beautiful fresh bunches of Tasmanian grown veggies!

Yer and his family have farming entrenched in their DNA, coming from a long family life of living on the land. Ten years ago, Yer and his family arrived in Australia bringing with them generations of farming experience. With that in mind, it was easy to “grow” their future here Down Under.

“Our parents are all farmers”, says Yer. “When we first arrived, we set up our farm and started supplying to Salamanca Fresh right after that.”

The demand for their locally-grown produce grew and continues to grow today. “We supply coriander, radish, silver beet, garlic, parsley, peas, cauliflower, zucchini, celery, spring onions, beans, turnips and much more’, he says.

“Did you know that you can eat the turnip’s leaves? It makes for a very tasty salad”.

Just like his veggies, the relationship with Salamanca Fresh keeps growing strong. “We’ve been supplying to Salamanca Fresh for about ten years now. It’s a great relationship.”

With only two extra helpers, the farm is a true ‘Tasmanian Family Business’.  Yer and his family do most of the work themselves using their hands. “Planting is easy, but harvesting is quite hard when you use just your fingers”, says Yer. Yer says that they don’t have plans to get much bigger. “This is enough for us.”
