We are Ariel and Ness and we are Harissa Hobart. Harissa Hobart was born in 2017 from our love and passion for all food that is vegan, healthy, nutritious and cruelty free. Ness is from Hobart and Ariel is from Tel Aviv. After 20 years of traveling, running businesses abroad and eating our way through the continents we have settled in Hobart and run our own food stall and vegan catering.
We want to show you how delicious and exciting plant based cuisine can be. We appear in pop up events and markets in and around Hobart and we are available for catering. If you would like us to participate in a private event please contact us.
Event Catering
We are able to cater for your special event including weddings, birthday parties and corporate or private parties. We understand that every event is unique and can vary in terms of numbers, locational specifics and also quantity and style of food. From delightful canapés to fun street food served from our marquee, to relaxed buffets and spectacular dinners – we can prepare a menu to suit your special day or event that focuses on fresh and nutritious produce, sourced locally (where possible) and which is 100 percent vegan.
Our catering service is tailored to the individual and considers their unique personality and style when designing menus. Harissa Hobart is an eco business and we consider the environment and our planet in all aspects of the business. Our team puts service first, to ensure every event runs seamlessly and you can make the most of your special day.

Our plant based meals are homemade and frozen in either a single serve ready to eat pack – just defrost, heat and eat. or as a pack for 2 (without accompaniments).

For us, food is joy. Our passion for the environment and caring for animals underpins our philosophy at heart. Growing local, small batch fruit and vegetables, keeping waste and single use products to an absolute minimum, and constantly striving to achieve a lower impact on the environment, we are working to ensure that our small business has as minimal an impact on the environment as possible, whilst showing you that plant based cuisine can be creative, fun, flavourful, nutritious and never dull.
