Cooleys Hotel is highly regarded as an historic site. In 1841 the former hotel of “The Horse and Jockey” was taken over by Thomas Cooley. Hence today’s name of Cooleys Hotel. Cooleys Hotel held a long affiliation with the Cooley family as it was handed down through different family members.

The family friendly public bar offers patrons all kinds of activities that include a fully serviced TOTE outlet to place a bet on your favourite race or sport. The venue also provides patrons with the opportunity to try their luck at Tas Keno from the moment the hotel opens right through until closing time. For those patrons who are avid sporting fans, the public bar boasts a huge range of televisions to watch your favourite live sporting events on, and also the chance to back your team on Sports Bet.

The Cooleys Hotel Stable Gallery in its former days was a tack shed used by the local racing fraternity before and after local horse races at the then popular Albert Park Track, and later on the Elwick Racecourse.

As part of the recent renovations it was decided to maintain this important historical feature of the building and transform it into a gallery to showcase and support the work of up-and-coming artists.
