Overlooking one of the oldest slip yards in Australia, and enjoying a sunset framed by the Cataract Gorge and Tamar River; is one of Launceston’s newest restaurant offerings.

Boatyard, nestled in a little corner and with glorious front seats of the Tamar, is bringing casual dining to Launceston’s waterfront, from your morning coffee & a snazzy take on the humble omelette for brunch or taking in the stunning sunset from our balcony in the evenings, we will be open year-round in our favourite part of the world.

We welcome you to join us after your morning stroll (furry four-legged friends too!) for breakfast, pop in for lunch or stay for dinner Wednesday thru Sunday.

Yes! We do seafood, very well too! But that’s not even the half of it! Showcasing local ingredients without getting too complicated, our menu gets back to the core of casual dining, and we look forward to sharing it with you.

Boatyard is the ideal venue for weddings, functions and corporate events, with two event spaces available for your special occasion. The main dining room with polished timber floors, cathedral ceilings and wall to wall views of the magnificent Esk and Tamar Rivers, providing the perfect backdrop for your event.

The deck area with overhead heating and retractable blinds that open to one of the best views in Launceston.

Our talented chefs have designed a functions menu that celebrates seasonal Tasmanian produce, which can be modified to suit your requirements.
