Description

The Original Farmer’s Market – Est. 1977
PROUDLY FRESH. PROUDLY LOCAL.

Providing fresh produce picked daily.

Young’s Vegie Shed participates with local Tasmanian farmers and suppliers in order to add to our selection of fresh produce.

We buy Tasmanian produce wherever and whenever we are able to ensure you have access to the very freshest fruits and vegetables available. If Tasmanian grown produce is not available, we then source the best available Australian grown fruits and vegetables, according to seasonal availability.

We partner directly with the following farmers and suppliers to give you a variety of produce to choose from without having to stop at multiple stores to gather ingredients for your favourite recipes.

Young’s Vegie Shed began in 1977 as a farmyard market on East Cam Road, Burnie, just a couple of kilometres from our current Camdale location.
From the start, John and Miriam Young had the vision of selling their own farm-grown produce directly to the public. Now, more than 40 years later, Young’s Vegie Shed is proud to remain 100% Tasmanian owned and operated.

The market is still owned by the Young family, from which it derives its name, and we’re still in the business of delivering the freshest fruits and vegetables.

Our produce is brought to you from both our own farms as well as other select Tasmanian farmers and suppliers.

Buy Fresh, Buy Local

At Young’s Vegie Shed, we farm our own produce and bring you locally grown Tasmanian produce from Tasmania’s premium farms and suppliers. For produce not generally grown on Tasmania we source Australian grown fruits and vegetables from the finest farmers and producers right across Australia according to seasonal growing conditions. We specialise in bringing you high quality fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products and dry goods to help you eat local, from farm to fork.

Young’s Vegie Shed grows and sells our own local produce. Our farm workers prepare the soil, sow our seeds and nurture our crops to bring you fresh, local fruits and vegetables of the highest quality. We grow specialty crops, like potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, swedes, iceberg lettuce, cabbages, raspberries, blueberries, brussel sprouts and pumpkins, and we work with other local farmers and suppliers to bring you an affordable and unbeatable selection of fresh produce

We work tirelessly throughout the summer and winter months to be your one-stop food destination stocked with fruits, vegetables, meats and dairy. Our farm workers have even been known to hand-pick our cauliflower with a fresh dusting of snow. The variant climate only makes for even more flavour in your produce! Our farm also features one of Tasmania’s largest grass fed Murray Grey beef cattle stud farms.
For any enquiries regarding our Murray Grey beef cattle stud, please call Ben Young on 0438 395 559

We have two locations available so that you can enjoy our fresh meats, fruits and vegies without having to drive across town. Stop by today.
