FRESH PASTA

Fresh pasta is that bit more luxurious than dried pasta, it’s richer and silkier and goes beautifully, and equally well with creamy or buttery sauces and tomato or meat sauces.

Fresh pasta cooks in less than half the time of dried pasta and also cooks beautifully from frozen. No need to defrost just add to plenty of salted boiling water.

At The PASTA Merchant our pasta is made fresh daily and is available for you to take home and cook yourself, or pre-cooked so that you can team it with one of our delicious sauces and reheat at your leisure, OR our meals are available hot to take-away and there is also the option of dining in for just a little extra.

Our little store, situated in Charles St. Launceston, produces in excess of 300kg of the best pasta you will find outside of Italy, every week AND is recommended by Lonely Planet if you’re visiting our beautiful island state.

OUR GELATO

We make our own delicious range of gelato, sorbets and frozen yoghurts with all the classic flavours plus ‘Twixish’ (luscious caramel with a gooey caramel  swirl, chocolate and crumbled shortbread), Vanilla Cheesecake with Lemon Curd and Apple Pie with Cinnamon just to name a few. AND we make delicious celebration cakes, you just have to choose your favourite flavours.

CATERING

With catering packages starting from $15.60 per person, which includes 2 hot pastas of your choice, garlic and fresh herb bread and garden salad why would you do it yourself…?
