Tarraleah has a unique and interesting history, having once been a town for the workers and their families responsible for developing Tasmania’s pioneering Hydroelectric scheme. HIGHLANDER ARMS
The Highlander Arms is a great choice for an evening meal or family celebration. Complete with Restaurant, Bar & Atrium this is the perfect spot on a summer evening and several wood fires keep it cosy in those colder months.
The Highlander Arms is now open on selected evenings with a limited menu. If staying inhouse, our team will contact you closer to your arrival to confirm opening times and menu options. If not staying with us, please call on 03 6289 0111 or email info@ tarraleah.com.
If the Highlander Arms is closed, a dinner delivery option is available for any guests booked into one of our Lake Cabins or Art Deco Cottages. (Advance booking required)
Group dining and special events are also available for 20 people or more on request (t’s &c’s apply).
PRIVATE DINING
At all times of the year Tarraleah Estate is able to organise private dining, day or night, for groups of 10 to 150 people (smaller numbers can be catered for with a surcharge). We can tailor our options to suit small private celebrations for specials occasions, casual club get-togethers, as well as weddings, corporate events, and product launches.

SELF-CATERING
If you prefer to prepare your own meals, the majority of our accommodation is self-contained, stocked with plates, cutlery, and cooking utensils….. You will, however, need to bring your own ingredients. The nearest supermarket is at Ouse, 35 minutes away. There is also a supermarket at New Norfolk, Queenstown and a small general store at Bronte Park. We recommend you plan ahead and check opening hours.
PRE-ORDERED MEAL PACKS
For those who love the outdoors and would like a lunch pack for a picnic or hike please let us know in advance and it can be organised.
We also have available self-catering breakfast packs if you would like to avoid a trip to the grocery store.
