The French Bistro is perfect for dining and relaxing and enjoying the panoramic and uninterrupted view of the Estate and Pittwater. Afterwards you may wish to browse thru the extensive range of gifts in the Cellar Door, or purchase some Estate macarons to take home and indulge in at a later time!

You may wish to linger in the magnificent French Orangery – which has been purpose built for High Teas – a sumptuous selection of pastries, cakes and perfect sandwiches are available on a daily basis.

The French Bistro serves lunch from 12 noon until 3:00pm daily

High Tea served at 10:30am and 2:00pm bookings are essencial

The Estate family are the sixth generation to work and contribute to agriculture and three generations have farmed the property.

The Estate includes cropping, sheep, and the largest privately owned vineyard in the Coal River Valley with 40 hectares of vine plantation. The gentle undulating land to the waterfront provides a unique maritime influence, microclimate and anideal environment for the large vineyard. These characeristics contribute to the growing and making of award-winning wine. 

The magnificent views, European interiors, Cellar Door, and superb French Restaurant have been carefully designed to give you a warm and unforgettable experience.

Riversdale Estate Vineyard commenced planting vines in 1991. The vineyard is located in the Coal River Valley and lies in the shadow of the famous UTAS radio telescope. The Coal River Valley enjoys wonderfully mild and dry weather during the ripening season between December and April, and is quickly becoming recognized for the reliability and quality of its wines. 

Riversdale Estate produces single-vineyard wines; Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sparkling, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.

We practice sustainable viticulture. With the magnificent radio telescope towering in the landscape, Riversdale Estate turned to the cosmos for inspiration when naming their range of ultra premium cool climate wines!

Peter Rabbit™ Garden

Take an enchanting stroll through Peter Rabbit’s™ Garden and see Mr. McGregor and the story of Peter Rabbit™ unfold, along with many other of your favourite Beatrix Potter characters.

The Peter Rabbit Garden and Gift Shop is Open Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm

Accommodation

Riversdale Estate offers 7 x fully self-contained luxe French Provincial cottages, just a hop skip and jump from the Peter Rabbit Garden, French Bistro and Cellar Door, & Gift Emporiums.

The cottages have beautiful and well – appointed equipped kitchens with marble benches; whilst the bathroom offers a claw foot slipper bath to enjoy. The furniture is French Provincial and the views spectacular!

Riversdale Estate is only 18 minutes from Hobart, or 10 minutes from the Airport or the historic Georgian village of Richmond. You will wake up to a musical treat from the scores of native birds!
