Omotenashi Hobart is a restaurant, but maybe not in the classical sense. First we are located in the trunk of the Lexus of Tasmania showroom or as some know it the Rox building on Elizabeth Street. There are only 12 seats which are positioned along one counter top dining space. We serve one sitting per night and for now only two sittings per week, this being dinner each Friday and Saturday. Dinner begins at 6:30pm sharp and generally runs until about 10:00pm or until the conversation ends and guests feel the moment has come to return to the elements and make the journey home. Each night a set menu of around 12ish items/dishes/morsels will be served with matched alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages. The menu and overall experience is heavily produce focused and acts as a showcase of what we consider to be the best thing about living and eating in Tasmania which is the abundance of very high quality produce year round. The team (Lachlan Colwill, Sophie Pope & Ashley Castle) are all formally trained chefs yet throughout the meal will continuously swap roles between cooking, serving and story telling with the aim that not only is Omotenashi Hobart an enjoyable experience for the guests joining us each night but also for the team as we believe by truely enjoying our work we be highly motivated and strive to deliver an experience that is unique and exemplary.

Dinner with matched beverages is $300pp.

Due to the nature of the experience unfortunately we are unable to cater to major dietary requests. Small alterations may be able to be made on a case by case basis but this needs to be communicated and confirmed by our team no later than one week prior to the reservation.

The restaurant is located at 4/160 Elizabeth Street, Hobart. Entrance is via the Lexus of Tasmania/Roxburgh House lane way. Look for the Omotenashi sign board.
