It started out with a kit, how did it end up like this?
Mark’s out of control home brewing, akin to many Tasmanian craft brewery origin stories, morphed in to small scale craft beer brewing. And now he’s living the dream, drinking his own beer, at his local, in his own piece of paradise!
Our brewing inspirations hail from the likes of our local oysters, our cheese of the moment, our fabulous Tasmanian produce, the season, and of course Old World beer styles.
Our clean and clear East Coast Tasmanian rain water starts the process, and copious swearing then seems necessary. A bunch of high grade stainless steel, barley, hops, and some secret additions, gives Coles Bay its only locally brewed craft beers.
We’re on tap at select venues in Coles Bay, Bicheno, Launceston and Hobart. We also attend Festivals and Events on the East Coast of Tasmania. And of course we’re on tap at our in house bar for our in-house guests. Scroll down for details.
Come stay with us in our home, in Coles Bay Tasmania, gateway to the world famous Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park. Our rooms have King Size Beds (or 2 singles) & private en-suite. There’s free NBN Wifi, & Netflix & Stan TV. Each day enjoy a complimentary Continental Breakfast with pastries, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, or seasonal surprises, either in your room, in the communal guest lounge, or outside on the deck.
We have a BBQ area and fire pit for relaxed evenings under the stars. Enjoy some local Oysters and Wines and chill out by the fire whilst gazing at the stars. Why not stay a few nights and take a sunset kayak tour around Coles Bay, or a quad bike tour to a remote and secluded beach, get on board a local wine tour, or cruise around to Wineglass Bay. The House Bar
Relax in front of the fire at our House Bar, where our guests can indulge in beer tastings with us. We generally have 4 beers on tap, whatever Mark thinks is at its best. Trial beers usually start their life here. Experimenting on friends and guests is all part of the process. We can talk you through the brewing process, so you can learn a little more while trying our beers.
Tastings are for our in house guests only, sorry. We are on tap in other venues in Coles Bay if you can’t stay with us.
