Federation Artisan Chocolate has a chocolate factory and shop located at Taranna on the Tasman Peninsula along the road to Port Arthur, and a retail store & cafe located in Hobart. Federation Artisan Chocolate has been an iconic Tasmanian chocolate brand for over 30 years. When Maurice and Helen Curtis bought the business in 2014, they decided they wanted to become more involved in their chocolates entire making process right through from the growing of the cacao beans to the making of their bars.

Hobarts Chocolate Maker. We are the chocolate experts making chocolate from the cacao bean, ethically sourcing ingredients from sustainable products and direct trade with farmers. All made in Hobart. Vegan and gluten friendly.

We are located in the centre of Hobart at 3 Victoria Street,This is a unique chocolate experience where you can see the rich creamy chocolate being hand made, taste the end result and buy direct from this family business.Owners Maurice and Helen Curtis love chocolate as much as you. They search the world for the finest cocoa to produce decadent memorable chocolate sensations. So you can take a trip around the world from the Chocolate kitchen, sampling chocolate from Papua New Guinea, Tanzania or Madagascar.

Our Hobart artisan chocolate factory, retail store and café is conveniently located only short walk from Hobart’s waterfront, Salamanca Place and the Hobart CBD. Here you can see our stunning array of chocolates and see our full bean stone ground chocolate and handmade chocolates being made through our viewing windows.

During your visit you can peruse our chocolate range for a gift for friends or family, or even better spoil yourself! If you have some time stop at our café for a delicious hot chocolate or coffee with a sweet treat.

Federation Artisan Chocolate has been an iconic Tasmanian chocolate brand for over 30 years. Since then they have worked tirelessly to hand select ethical and sustainable cacao growers and increase the stone ground full bean content of their chocolate. They are very proud of the progress they have made in developing their chocolate working out of the Taranna chocolate making facilities and direct to consumer shop on Tasmanian’s Tasman Peninsula, 1 hours drive from Hobart just before Port Arthur.

Federation Artisan Chocolate is proudly Tasmanian owned and operated and all their chocolate is handmade in Tasmania, Australia.

Come on a tour of our artisan factory in Hobart and see how our Bean to Bar chocolate is made. Our chocolate maker will take you through the process of making chocolate from the Cacao Bean all the way to its transformation into our delectable chocolate. You will learn about all the different bean growing regions in the world and how that and the different stages of the chocolate making process help to form the taste of chocolate.  See our roasting, grinding and chocolate liquor aging methods and taste at each stage.Perfect for lovers of chocolate and those looking to learn about the Full Bean method of making Chocolate.This experience is conducted at 3 Victoria Street, Hobart, Tasmania.  Visit our website to secure a spot on our next tour.

SUNDAY CHOCOLATY AFTERNOON TEA

What could be better then tasting chocolate on a Sunday afternoon?How about tasting chocolate, meeting our Chocolate Maker and enjoying afternoon tea in our chocolate factory! We are now offering an opportunity for our visitors every Sunday at 2pm to tour our artisan factory in Hobart and see how our Bean to Bar chocolate is made, followed by afternoon tea. 

Our chocolate maker will take you through the process of making chocolate from the Cacao Bean all the way to its transformation into our delectable chocolate. You will learn about all the different bean growing regions in the world and how that and the different stages of the chocolate making process help to form the taste of chocolate.  See our roasting, grinding and chocolate liquor aging methods and taste at each stage.

Then we will serve you afternoon tea, which includes an in house made pastry and one of our famous hot drinks.
