Altitude Restaurant + Lounge Bar at Cradle Mountain Hotel offers casual and upscale dining as well as a comfortable bar and lounge. Relax by one of the open log fires at the end of the day of exploring the Cradle Mountain – Lake St. Clair National Park. Be sure not to miss the ‘Mountain Rock Experience’, a hot stone grill featuring premium Tasmanian produce cooked on a 360°C volcanic stone. Altitude Restaurant + Lounge Bar is open to all visitors to the Cradle Mountain – Lake St. Clair National Park and is a perfect addition to your visit to the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.

Our bar and restaurant is open 7 days for breakfast (buffet) and dinner (à la carte). 

You will immediately relax when you walk into the Altitude Restaurant with its cosy fires, forest views and friendly atmosphere.

The menu presents a variety of meals and snacks made with fresh local produce accompanied by our wine list containing a range of Tasmanian wines.

Boasting delicious fresh, seasonal hearty fare, our breakfast will give you a boost of energy for a day of exploring and our lunch will rejuvenate you before you head back out into the wonderland of Cradle Mountain. Of an evening we offer multiple dining options in the warmth and ambiance of a crackling log fire. 

Our lounge bar provides the perfect place to relax and unwind in a comfy couch and enjoy a wine or light meal while planning your next mountain activity. Settle in for a glass of award winning Tasmanian red, a locally brewed craft beer or a refined Tasmanian single malt whisky, along with a selection of tasty snacks.

MOUNTAIN ROCK EXPERIENCE

Be tempted by the exciting dining experience unique to Cradle Mountain’s Altitude Restaurant: hot rock cooking. You will receive your meal cooking on a 400°C volcanic stone, a technique that sears in all the natural juices and nutrients and gives you delicious full flavoured and tender meals. Choose from a plate of Tasmanian meats or seafood and cook it to your liking.

Mountain Rock Experience is available for dinner (until 8.30PM), 7 days

The Mountain Rock Experience is also available for lunch for group bookings of more than 10 guests. Bookings essential.
