Set in the foothills of South Hobart beneath Mt. Wellington, we’re home to the oldest operating brewery in Australia, Cascade Brewing Co.

Proudly local, we’re passionate about celebrating our Tasmanian brewing history. Our doors and heritage beer garden are open seven days from 11am serving up the best of Tasmania in a glass, on a plate and accompanied by our warm Hobart hospitality.

Looking out over majestic Mount Wellington, the brewery facade and our three acres of heritage gardens, Cascade Brewery Bar is an essential Hobart experience. Here you can enjoy Cascade beers and Mercury ciders fresh from the brewery. Our friendly bar staff will be happy to guide your selection or test your bar skills at the daily beer pulling contest. If it’s variety you are after, then why not try a tasting paddle? Besides the great beer, wonderful views and picturesque gardens the Cascade Brewery Bar hosts a fantastic restaurant, historic displays and merchandise store. The venue also has a private conferencing room and bar and can be hired for private functions and events or as a wedding venue. 

Our chef’s menu, made with, or matched to our beers and ciders always hits the spot. Featuring local produce, snack dishes, share plates, generous mains, delectable desserts and sweet treats there is something for every appetite and occasion. You can enjoy your meal at the bar, in our dining room or out in the gardens. Our Restaurant is open daily. Bookings are recommended and for groups of eight or more they are essential.

Functions and Events

We specialise in weddings, celebrations, large corporate events and boutique conferencing for numbers up to 300 and can make your function especially memorable offering exclusive access for a private brewery experience. Located 10 minutes from Hobart’s CBD, Cascade features an impressive beer garden, a large built in dance floor and complementary car parking. We happily conduct client appointments, on weekdays and weeknights, to discuss your celebration at Cascade. With a range of enticing function menus including cocktail, platter and plated options, all featuring local produce and fresh ingredients, we can cater for a diverse range of private and corporate event requirements. Beer and Cider Experience

Step behind the scenes of Australia’s oldest operating brewery. Learn the art of creating one of the nation’s oldest beer recipes from start to finish while you explore previously unseen areas of the brewery and what it takes to turn our 100% Tasmanian apples into delicious Mercury Cider. Finish your visit with a refreshing tasting paddle of four Cascade beers or ciders.
