80 stallholders with Tasmania’s finest food, drinks + entertainment
The Taste is back at PW1 and it’s more Tasmanian than ever! This year, from Tuesday 28 December to Monday 3 January, we’re bringing together over 80 of the finest local eateries, breweries, distilleries and wineries.
Stallholders from across Tasmania will be offering the State’s finest food and drinks. There’ll be Taste of Tasmania classics you know and love along with fresh newcomers with exciting tastes to share. We’re thrilled to showcase Tassie flavours, producers and makers from all over the State.
So come and fill a plate, raise your glass, and celebrate the Taste of Summer.
Tasmania’s Taste of Summer is a ticketed event. There are limited available so be quick and don’t miss out.
The famous Taste of Tasmania has been run by the City of Hobart for over 30 years. In 2020, the Taste was cancelled due to COVID-19. In 2021, the City of Hobart decided it would no longer operate the event. The Tasmanian Government and the City of Hobart worked together to find an operator of a similar event on Hobart’s waterfront over the New Year’s period.
The Pinpoint Group Pty Ltd (see “Who is the Pinpoint Group?”) was the successful applicant, and our vision is to respect traditions while energising the future of this iconic event under the new name, Tasmania’s Taste of Summer. We want to protect the best elements of the Taste for our visitor economy, events and hospitality sectors, local producers, stallholders, and the Tasmanian community. The format will still be recognisable as a Taste-like event. However, there will be a range of differences, which result from COVID-19 restrictions, practical circumstances, and our own vision for the future of the event.
Pinpoint Group Pty Ltd is a company formed by four friends who are all directly involved in the Tasmanian tourism, hospitality, and events sectors. Each has business interests that have been negatively affected by COVID-19, and all appreciate the important role that the Taste of Tasmania has had in the State’s rise as a popular visitor destination, as well as in our community.
