Farmgate Festival takes place in the Tamar Valley on 21st and 22nd November 2020. Twelve small farms and vineyards open their gates for the weekend. Visit for farm tours and find out what it’s like to run a small rural business in Tasmania.

Farmgate Festival celebrates its fourth year in 2020, as the premiere farming and food event in the Tamar Valley of northern Tasmania.

A selection of farmers and producers open their gates for the weekend on 21 – 22 November 2020.

Go behind the scenes on the farm, meet the people who grow and produce your food and contribute to Tasmania’s great food story. 

Ticket sales open on 14th September.

We’re delighted that Loira Vines and Moonlily Kitchen and Cakes have come on board to host exquisite dinners for Farmgate Festival.

Both enjoy a rich reputation amongst those in the know in the Tamar Valley, for their hospitality, uncanny ability to conjure magic from tiny kitchens, and dedication in showcasing the fine produce of the region.    

Both venues will offer a dinner for limited diners on both festival evenings – Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November. 

To assist with seating that meets Covid-19 safety requirements, please book as a group where possible. 

In the event that the dinners are cancelled, full refunds will be offered. 

A Seasonal Soiree at Loira Vines

Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November
6pm start

Loira Vines presents an exquisite Four Seasons Soiree, an evening of matched music, dining and wine. Four courses by guest chef Rob Boden – think beef rib on the bone with dark fruits and truffle bearnaise. Hungry? Book in!

Courses are preceded by a piece from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, played by local quartet Bits of String.

Matched wines are included in your ticket; beer and cider for those who prefer.

Tickets: $140 per person.

A Regional Degustation at Moon Lily Kitchen and Cakes

Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November
6pm start

Moon Lily Kitchen and Cakes are celebrating Farmgate Festival with a degustation dinner.

Local produce will be showcased over five courses. Wines from the vineyards of the Tamar are included in your ticket, with non-alcoholic mocktails are available if preferred.

Tickets: $140 per person.
