Tasmania produces less than 0.5% of the National Crush but its International reputation and quality ensures it commands the highest price per tonne of fruit in Australia. With Tasmanian varieties and styles a must on any wine list, many mainland wineries are sourcing fruit from Tasmania. Demand now exceeds supply and Tasmania’s cool climate is a hot commodity.
