East Coast Tasmania’s favourite Bicheno Food and Wine Festival is back in 2022 on 19th November. Tickets will go on sale on 1st September. Stay tuned as we begin to release details about this years event.

Bicheno Food & Wine Festival is a beloved community event, organised year-round by a dedicated bunch of volunteers that are passionate about Tassie’s peerlessly beautiful East Coast. We also like good food and don’t mind the occasional drop of pinot.

The event boasts a considerable lineup of Tasmanian musical talent, a strong focus on East Coast surfing culture, circus workshops and a few little surprises hidden here and there. But first and foremost, this is a festival all about indulging the tastebuds.

“The Bicheno Food and Wine Festival is everything that makes your heart sing when you think of Tasmania’s spectacular East Coast.“

Tasmania is becoming world renowned for its fine wines, boutique beers and ciders, exquisite produce, and food. The Bicheno Food and Wine Festival builds on this from an East Coast perspective, and as a result, people come along in their droves. Staying true to such a simple doctrine is not hard, particularly as the Festival continues to attract supporters who not only live and breathe the lifestyle, but also actively support the growth and sustainability of these industries on the coast.

The location is literally seaside, looking directly over Waubs Bay, out to sea, and north toward our favourite surf break at Redbill Beach. The produce is unapologetically East Coast Tasmania, Wine, Cider, Beer, Spirits and the food. Oh goodness – All the taste and wonder that our clean air, pristine water, and untarnished soils can deliver.

The Bicheno Food and Wine Festival is supported by the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania.

Kick back on the lawn to great music and celebrate everything from the east coast. Amazing food, views, exceptional wine, delicious beers, and spirits!

Our 2022 masterclasses program is action packed! Presented by SMEG, you can either buy a masterclass ticket and get hands-on with these tasty adventures, or simply attend as a spectator (and watch everyone else have all the fun). Either way, you’ll need to have a general admission ticket to the festival first. Masterclasses tickets are $25 each and will be released on September 1st.

We’re breaking out of some old rhythms and trying a few new things this year. Four stages, playing music throughout the day.

The Surfboard Exhibition has been a great success, with no little thanks to Tassie surfing legends Ron McCulloch and Phil Critchlow who have, unassumingly, put in an immense amount of work and dedication bringing together the best annual exhibit of classic surfboards in Tasmania, curated around a core collection of boards reflecting various historical surfboard board design themes.

We here at the Bicheno Food & Wine Festival are getting serious about reducing our environmental footprint. This year, we’ve asked our stallholders to provide nothing to patrons that needs a general waste bin, and we plan to process organics – making up the bulk of our waste – into rich compost, right here in Bicheno.

Bicheno and the wider East Coast area is a great place for day-trippers – with stunning beaches, sightseeing, bushwalks and of course the extensive program of partner events throughout the same weekend.
